- I am site engineer I measured the land and determine the north arrow and streets around the site.
- I would like to build a Mosque in a poor neighboring residential.
-I want a men place to praying and anther for women – Quran place for boys anther for girls – a shelter for the watchman– a separate entrance for the leader – an equipment storage.
- I designed the plan to meet all location rules.
-Using local materials to let poor be donate by their efforts and useless stuff, the Mosque will be productive it will support poor families.
-The building in two levels to meet the project program.
1 - Design Tip
- The material I use is a traditional but I developed it and my project is selected by Hoclim Awards to be studies it was one among 60000 projects around the world.
- Using this material in multi-use that reduce the financial and emphasize the design that makes the wall plays several rules in the same time.
- The entrance is from the void space of the dome which is a productive dome.
- The Meazana (the tower ) is he stair case for the first level , emphasize the façade also a productive tool .
- the men praying area is narrow against the entrance and wide against the Qabla , that let a huge number of prayers to pray and ease the roof cover by local materials , also create steps into the walls for leader and let palms grow beside the praying area to product date , the first floor have light cover and let the vision communication to make women follow the leader , also the girls space allocated .
2 - Technical Tip
- Dig 60 cm if the soil is sandy.. if there are special case you ask for soil engineer advise .
- make an ordinary foundation after draw the plane on the land before digging started
- You can build the foundation by white block or any stone block in your location.
- make a 60 cm basement under the traditional material.
- Use the developed material and cob and pieces of straw which bond them.
- use the timber log after drying it as a beam in cement buildings.
- After the drying of the building cover walls by a layer of mud and straw by hand only.
- make a layer of lime to prevent microbes or insects and get a good finish.
3 - Coloring Tip
- The mud color is incredible color, it is enough or you can use lime paint in suitable color.
- Or use lime in its natural color white which bright under the sun light.
- Or mix some parts with colored lime and let the other white.
- Wooden log let them in natural color it is matching with the whole building.
4 - Shopping Tip
- This materials is very local, you can seek for stone bricks for foundation, it should be able to bond by cement, and its edges must be sharp and prefect to let rows to be prefect.
- Mud can be getting from paving the land after harvesting.
- The straw is cutting in small pieces.
- Wooden log from local resources.
